From mothers, for mothers · 25 years of healing touch

The body knows.
The feet remember.

The whole body is mapped onto the soles of the feet. Through gentle, attentive touch in each zone, the systems, organs, and emotions begin to wake — and real, settled calm becomes possible.

Shulamit Mordecai
Shulamit Mordecai · Giv'on HaHadasha

I was born in Rehovot, and over the years I have lived in several places across Israel: Tzfat, Haifa, Jerusalem, Zichron Ya'akov, and Giv'on HaHadasha. In every one of them I gathered experiences, picked up tools for living, and learned to see things from different angles.

Today I live in Giv'on HaHadasha. This is home, this is the base, and from here I go where I am needed, when I am needed.

I am a graduate of the "Academy for Whole Medicine" in Jerusalem, the "Lemoria" College in Sha'arei Tikva, and a member of the Israeli Reflexology Forum. I also hold a B.A. in Psychology and Art from the University of Haifa, an Art Teaching Certificate, and a Mikveh Attendant and Bridal Guide certificate from "Dor VaDor."

I began my path in complementary medicine in 1998, after I came to understand that words are not always enough — that touch can reach in, settle, and quietly affect the places that language can't reach.

During my training, I went through powerful treatment processes myself that deepened my awareness — as a woman and as a person — reconnected me to something essential, and, I hope, made me a better practitioner.

Alongside my work with women, I have been treating clients with reflexology and healing touch consistently for the past 25 years.

I chose to focus on mothers and children — and on teaching them — out of a belief that touch needs to be returned to our world. In a fast-paced life that often runs low on breath and soul, we tend to miss the small moments and the things that matter most. Through touch, everyone benefits — both the mothers and the children. Scientific research confirms what intuition already knows: children whose feet are cared for regularly become calmer, struggle less with attention and focus difficulties, feel more secure, and are more able to give of themselves to others.

From my own experience as a mother who returned to the work of touch, I can say honestly: something softened in me first. I became more patient, more present, more motherly. Giving to my children through touch made me a more loving person.

In recent years I have been working at several branches of a major Israeli health-fund clinic, treating hundreds of women who come seeking healing touch — for treatment, for calm, for renewal.

I believe every mother in Israel can be a wonderful reflexologist for her own children. There is no substitute for a mother's touch and for the kind of bond it creates with women and children. The effect of a kind, attentive mother's touch is profound, and it reaches many layers deep.

Why Reflexology

What the body knows, when words aren't enough

Our feet carry the weight of the day. They also carry a complete map of the body — every system, every organ, every emotion. Reflexology is how we read that map.

What is it, really?

Reflexology is an ancient holistic practice built on a simple premise — the soles of the feet are a miniature map of the body. Each zone on the foot connects to a specific organ, system, or gland. Through gentle, deliberate pressure, the practitioner awakens those reflex zones, eases the flow of energy, and releases physical and emotional blocks.

How does it work?

The session is done through gentle touch on the foot — no needles, no instruments, no side effects. You lie down and the body grows quiet. Areas of tension begin to release, circulation evens out, and the nervous system drops into deep rest. Many of my clients fall asleep on the table — and that's exactly the sign that the body is getting what it needs.

What does a session offer?

01 Deep calm

Release of chronic tension, balance of the nervous system, better quality of sleep.

02 Pain relief

Headaches, migraines, lower back, neck and shoulders — often noticeably better after a single session.

03 Hormonal balance

Support through menopause, irregular cycles, and fertility challenges.

04 Better digestion

Constipation, stomach pain, digestive sensitivity — and the emotional processing that often comes with them.

05 Stronger immunity

Support for the lymphatic system and the body's resilience, especially during seasonal transitions.

06 Support for children

Bedwetting, ADHD, anxiety, and trouble sleeping.

How is this different from other alternative practices?

  • Compared to acupuncture — no needles, nothing invasive. Suitable for children, for those who are hesitant, and for anyone who feels acupuncture isn't for her.
  • Compared to classic massage — we're not working on muscles alone. Focused pressure on the foot reaches zones that a full-body massage cannot.
  • Compared to Reiki — this is real, physical contact, not only energetic work. Most clients feel the release during the session itself.
  • Compared to shiatsu — reflexology works on a small, focused area, so it's effective for quick balance in specific situations — and easier to receive.

If any of this resonates, this is the moment to hear how I can help.

Treatments

Who is the treatment for?

Each woman is welcome to come with whatever she carries. I meet the body where it is, and stay attentive to what surfaces.

01

Women carrying too much in the body

Back pain, muscle tension, the kind of fatigue that builds on itself, anxieties locked in the shoulders — the body knows how to say what words can't always reach.

02

Pregnancy and pre-birth

Gentle support at every stage — from early pregnancy through the days right before birth. Careful work, adapted to each trimester.

03

Fertility, cycle, and menopause

Hormonal balance, irregular cycles, fertility challenges, hot flashes and the upheavals of menopause — a place of calm and support, reached through the feet.

04

Children with physical or emotional difficulties

Bedwetting, ear issues, breathing, digestion, tensions and anxieties that a small body doesn't always know how to express — touch is able to reach the depth.

05

Attention and focus difficulties (ADHD)

Regular reflexology for children helps with calm, good sleep, and the nervous-system regulation that attention and focus difficulties really need.

The Elements in the Foot

Four elements, one whole body

A map is hidden in the sole of the foot. Four regions that hold the four elements of body and spirit — earth, water, fire, air. Each region is a doorway into a different story.

The four elements — air, water, fire, earth — as the symbolic ground of the foot map
Air · Water · Fire · Earth — the elements hidden in the sole of the foot
First element

Earth

Location: The heel. Mirrors the area from the soles of the feet up to the lower belly — the skeletal system.

In the physical layer: basic needs, standing on the ground, stability. In the inner layer: relationship to money, fertility, structure, existential safety.

Second element

Water

Location: The arch of the foot. The region from the lower belly to the diaphragm — the digestive, urinary, and lymphatic systems.

The emotional layer: processing feelings, withdrawnness, shyness, digesting experiences and circumstances. The inner flow of life.

Third element

Fire

Location: The ball of the foot. The region from the diaphragm to the shoulders — the muscular and endocrine systems.

The layer of creation and doing: giving, responsibility, the way we move in society. At the center sits the solar plexus — self-confidence, individuality, "who I am alongside others."

Fourth element

Air

Location: The toes. The region from the line of the shoulders up to the top of the head — the central nervous system.

Thinking, the hypothalamus and pituitary, the senses of sight and hearing. Expression, social reserve, the mental layer.
